The National Museum of American History will host a program that highlights the history and people that lived the experience of the Middle Passage and explore the work the Smithsonian is doing to recover these stories. Facilitators will provide an interactive experience of early 19th century American maritime culture, including how anti-slavers identified slave carrying ships. A great opportunity to better understand the grueling journey many slaves had to endure.
